Replacement key for 2000 Discovery.
(1/1)
Fiddler:
Is there anybody else had this problem?.
The key for my 2000 discovery has had the rubber button covers fall apart and I have had a quote of $250 to buy a replacement key, I almost chocked and had to have a lie down for a while, can anybody please tell me if there an after market key case available that I could put the guts from my existing key into? or how to disable the alarm and use the key to open and lock my vehicle without the buttons.
I live in the Forster NSW area but would be prepared to travel 100/200 klms to get one.
Fiddler:
I found a key replacement for my disco, new key $250 replace the rubber buttons on original key $50. from All four x 4 spares in Newcastle NSW

Glad you found a fix, was going to suggest this... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Land-Rover-Discovery-2-Remote-Key-Fob-Button-Repair-Pad-/190579152661?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c5f671715
Fiddler:
Thank you Will, I had to use a match to push the little button inside the key housing and make sure I didn't touch and damage the electronics inside, a challenge even for an old Fiddler like myself.
