Aloha all!
I have a set of aux lamps on my nudge bar that dont go. They use the factory wiring kit with the relay etc by the under bonnet fuse panel. Problem is, there seems to be no earth to either front light. Do we know where the earth for them is? Has anyone had the relay unit fail? Mine won't even click when I press the button.

Not sure what you mean by aux lamps, but assume you're talking about what most people call fog lights. Mine have two wires to each lamp, positive & negative. These are aftermarket, but fitted into bullbar by Landrover specialist in Perth, and they use the LR relay and a second fog light switch on the side of the dash binnacle (the original fog light switch on the top left controls the rear fog lights).
From memory, when they fitted mine, as well as installing the relay, they had to program the computer to tell it that the lights had been fitted - maybe this hasn't been done on yours.
I'd pull the wire off the back of one of the globes and then connect it to either a test light or multi-meter, then operate the switch and see if you have any current. If it's wired up to original LR specs, it will only work with either the parkers on or the headlights on low beam. Will not work when other lights are turned off or when hi beam is on. If you have current to the wire but lights still not working, then run an earth wire from each light back to a suitable point on the body.

Howdy!
Apparantly ya don't need to tell the computer when using the LR Aux wiring kit. It is a direct connect. All the hot cables are good but I can't see where the factory kit earths the lights so I will have to just re-terminate the earths.
Oh, not all aux lamps are fogs. Some of us fit high power driving lights

Be interested to know how the switching for your aux lights is set up. If it's the same as mine, then the lights will only work with low beam or the parkers. I suppose you could get this changed for running driving lights.
I've got Hella Predators on mine, but wired through a separate switch & relay, set up so that they will only work with high beam - and have also recently converted the headlights to HID both high & low beam. It's made a huge difference - especially as I'm driving regularly between Kalgoorlie & Perth at the moment for work - and a lot of that is at night - there's a lot of roos out there.

Howdy. The power to allow the relay system to 'come' active' is from the park light circuit. It is mad system as both the lights' earths go into the block as well and connect to the earth pin. Anyhoo, the switching comes from the momentary switch on the dash and switches to earth. I have tried bypassing all the connections but to no avail. Wat I will do now is get a regular relay and use the existing cabling to it. Only difference is I will need to swap the momentary for a on/off (such as the cruise control switch), change the top plate to the '2' from my existing switch and all will be well!! Easy isnt it!!

Is it worth while going to the trouble of fitting genuine wiring loom for driving light/ fog lights or better to let a good sparky create what's needed?
