Disco II + front door central locking
« on: April 29, 2008, 11:18:23 AM »
Hiya all!   ;D
I have just got my 2000 DII V8 thru compliance and all is well but the fron doors will not work with the central locking. The driver's door key will lock the rear 3 doors (along with the driver's door) but not the front left door. The switch on the dash only operates the 3 rear doors. Anyone have any idea what gives?   :-\

Thanks!
2000 DII ex Japan.

Sounds like no power to the front door locking units.

Looking at the wiring diagram, there are two fuses related to the central locking in the fuse box inside the car - fuses No. 1 & 21. I'd be checking these first, and then if no joy, pull the lining off one of the doors and see if there's power to the locking unit.

Hi thanks mate! ;D
I don't have a wiring diagram for the DII, only the DI.

Will look at them! 8)

If you have got a fast internet connection, you might want to consider grabbing this file as it has a wiring diagram amongst other very useful things.

Sounds like a faulty door lock mechanism to me.  It's not uncommon for these mechanisms to fail.
