Last nights outing Pole to Pole (Watagans)
« on: January 13, 2007, 10:35:18 AM »
I went up the Watagans yesterday arvo just to watch a few of the LROC tuff trippers do their bit for one of their unofficial evening/night drives. Intention was to observe, thats all. Well I don't know what is was the fresh air, to much of the evening sun or what, but once at the top of this rollercoaster of a track I just felt compelled to drive it, something primal inside me said this track must be conquered by me in my D2.

Well we both safely made it slowly but surely, the dog was feeling a bit nervous on some of the angles but car and passengers all got through unscathed thanks to the guidence of the Tuff trippers. Twas a few W shaped seat moments but not too many.

I've done it now. I don't think my D2 will be doing the track again for a very long time.

Hi,

that sounds like it was fun.

i used to live 45 mins away from the Watagans and spent many a happy day driving there.

i really miss stuff like that - i used to go out with the lr sydney club and had been on a tuff trip - you can do it in a standard disco (with difficulty and some help) - did they ever start doing their extreme trips?

regards

ela

Ahhh! I'd fogotten about the ETT's! Ela, you have a memory!

We did do a few ETT's, with them spaced in with the normal TT's. Geez, I tell you, some of them were pretty scary, with Winchbreak pass being the worst and in the wet! I don't think we've done an ETT for a while now.

Drew coming down

Myself coming up

Max also folded his suspension that day.
