Extract from LROC member Barney:

the sydney lroc is putting on an expo (show and shine day) on the 25/7/04 at the museum of fire in penrith. it's a lousy $5 for entry, this is to cover our costs and in the unlikely event of a surplus, will be donated to charity.
the entry is per car for entry, this is whether you'rew showing your vehicle, having it judged by our team of ameture judges or just admiring everyone elses landys. there will be trade displays and sales, jumping castle and face painting, so that should cover kids of all ages.
it statrs at 9am if you're just coming to look or preferably earlier to participate. we have opened this to all landy owners, not just club members.
trophys will be presented mid afternoon to close the day.
would be great to see as many as possible there and participating. it doesn't matter if your landy is a little battle scarred (there will be a trophy for that too) as the main theme of the day is to socialise and check out each other's equipment (cars that is-you dirty people). food, dunnys etc are available on site and entry includes the museum itself
Cheers

Gday Mick and welcome. I'll no doubt see you there. I've got a brushed Oxford Blue Disco2 and will be there with bells on.

A good day out!

Met up with Jack, Callum, Max and Ela. I thought I saw George also, but am not sure.

A highlight was a red D2, cut down into a ute and the chassis extended. The rear seat area was set up like an extra cab only with 1/2 sized doors into the back where the spare was kept. The suspension was in standard spec, though no doubt uprated springs, with polyairs. The rear tailshaft was a 2 piece unit with centre bearing. On the tray was a massive camper that extended over the top of the cabin. Very nice truck and a gutsy effort on the owners part. Sorry, no pics.
Cheers

You'd never believe it. I emptied everything out of the Disco so nothing looked tempting, and so didn't even bring the camera - stupidly, and after all of that I had left my keys in the ignition all day!   DOH!

Simon,
Unfortunately no, you didn't see me there. :(
I hope you all had a good time, I was torn between coming to the show or going off road... I chose the later.
I was in the Watagans with Adrian Cayzer driving around having a ball. It wasn't as wet as we thought, so it made the day enjoyable as there was virtually no dust to be had and the bogs had just enough water in them to be interesting.
The highlight of the day would've had to have been TUNKS' FIRE TRAIL, very steep, rocky and eroded...
Still can't wipe the smile
Adrian took a stack of photos, and I think one of us should be writing the trip report in the next day or two.
Sorry for hijacking this thread.
Regards
George.

hi george,

so you did go - good on you - but after the rain on saturday, i was not prepared to risk potential damage to the car.

we went to the show'n'shine instead - as mentioned above, also caught up with bruce davis - dragged him over to the tuff trip photos to show him the piccie of me & beastie- my 15 seconds of fame!!!!!

please post some piccies of tunks - i am wondering if i can get there next saturday for a go? it is about the only day i have left that i can go for a drive, but it would only be a short day!
