Radio Antenna, recovery points etc

Derek, u will need to remove both rear upper trims, rear upper central roof trim, & then u can gain access to the aerial grommet. It will also be easier if u remove the 2nd row grab handles in the roof, this lets the roof lining drop further, from memory there are 2 clips in the centre of the roof lining, u can remove these if needed, just gives u more room to play in.
Be careful the roof lining is fibre glass, gloves & mask is a good idea too.
Cheers

Thanks for the info Pete.  That all sounds like toooo much effort.  It would be a neat finish though.

I was looking at further options on the weekend (I can't connect the ariel until I get a PL259 plug as the bloody antenna wire came pre-assembled with crip-on plugs  and I have to mail order anything like that in).  The other option I'm toying with is to make a bracket and affix it to the snorkel mount.  This will let it clear the roof area whilst still keeping it on the same main body structure.
