Winches
« on: December 03, 2005, 06:43:20 AM »
I have just sold my series 1 discovery unfortunately the buyer wanted the winch, since he paid the agreed price I let him have the winch as well.
A little while ago I read that some of you were getting a bulk deal on winches I think the price was $850.00.
Does anyone remember the deal if so what, when & where?

Regards

Chuck.

Chuck,
There was a good deal going for LROCV members from a guy in Lilydale but I can't remember his name or the web site. They were Chinese winches but they were meant to be ok and had a 1 year warranty.

There are a few good deals on Ebay. I have know idea what the quality is like but for the price you can get them for you could buy a new one every year and it would take 6-7 years before you had paid the same price as a Warne.

I did post this last night but for some reason it did not come up. Yes the web site Simon has put down is the right one.
It was $799 but they did say that the price was only for a limited time. It now says that they are $1149 which is a huge difference.

I would try calling them and see if they will do a cheaper price.

I looked on the thread Adam gave me to EBay - the particular winch went for $500 for a 12000lb model, the literature said that it would fit any winch bar in Australia. I have asked them whether it will fit a TJM Bar on a TD5 & if I can pick it up & pay.
They are located in Braeside & seem to be dealers.

Has anyone heard of them?

Thanks Adam & Simon
