Hi all,

Joined today to swap ideas with other Disco owners, pick up some good points and generally talk Land Rover. Current Disco is a 2002 TD5 with very minor mods, Snorkle, Bilsteins, Polyairs, LT tyres, CB etc. Projects include a  rear locker and rebuilding the transfer case to install the locking arrangement deleted by the factory.

See you around

Tony

Welcome aboard,

I would save your money on the CDL for your model if your putting  in a rear locker, and put it towards a front locker instead that way a Centre diff lock won't be needed, could even workout cheaper.

Just another option.

Bear in mind that even with front and rear lockers, you are still going to have a difficult time reversing down a slippery hill, as your front wheels will lock before the rears, robbing you of steering.  With a CDL, you FORCE the front and rear diffs to rotate at the same speed, and with lockers as well as the CDL it would be so much easier and safer, as all wheels would be rotating at the same speed.  Heaps of control.
Kind Regards, Will Church

The front end will also tramp and slide out without the CDL, even if the axles are locked. I've seen this a few times.
