Twine Shower for DII
« on: September 15, 2005, 08:58:30 AM »
OK this is an update on my dramas with fitting a heat exchanger to the TD5/V8 DII.
I sent an email to Twine explaning my problem in fitting an heat exchanger (HELTON) to my TD5, well to my surprise there trip co-ordinater has a TD5 with a Twine shower fitted to it and after speaking to him (Jeff) have decided to give it another try, this time with the Twine shower, luckly i have a good mate that has a Twine and he has offered to let me try his in my TD5, so this saturday i'm going to try it, Now Jeff has assured me it works in fact part of his job on tours if giving showers to the group, so it has to work, as he said.
It is fitted to the heater hose that comes from the Top radiator hose to the heater, he has taken the metal tube that bolts to the passenger side of the engine and replaced it with the Twine exchanger thus having no joins or T pieces to worry about.

Well lets hope this works, cause i'm really over it if it doesn't

Well i'm sad to say we couldn't get it to work properly just doesn't get hot enough for a shower best we could do was just above luke warm, which is a bloody shame cause the Twine works bloody brilliant in my mates Cruiser, oh well.

The TD5s cooling system  is just to dam efficiant.

Looking at the Coleman hotwater thingo now, looked at the Primus one, absolute crap even flat out nowhere near as hot as the Coleman, if you can light the gas that is.

This is the other one we are looking at now.
