I am interested in the pros and cons from others perspective on the use of 9000 lb porta winch that can be used front an rear of vehicle. Ref Brawn Web site
Pros as I see it -:winch out of the mud apart from when required ie less servicing req'd, can winch in any direction. Easier to assist if in a narow convoy
Cons -: slower set up if in a urgent situation, It does weigh 40Kg so care required.
I am getting ready to buy my bull bar and its final choice will be influenced by my decision on fixed or portable winch (to be purchased later)

Regarding the bullbar itself: Buy the TJM, as you can fit a cradle and winch to it later if you want, as far as I know...
I've used a hand winch a couple of times, and it's damn hard work, but effective. Just a lot slower etc...
