Adam,

If you are going to get a few of them made, have a look at getting the blanks profile cut with oxy. You will be able to get exactly the right shape and if you nest it right get more out of a plate of steel.

The concept looks great. If you have any hitches in getting them made or want some assistance in doing so let me know.

Thanks Ian. I am only going to amke a few, maybe 10-15. It works out well because the plate is 200x150 and you can get length of 150mm plate so the shop is just cutting these into 200mm lengths.

The only other materials are bolts and high density PVC which i have already sourced.

My father has his own business in the metal shopfitting industry so he comes in very handy and probably the reason i make everything and anything out of metal rather than other materials. He has Mig welders, but welders, spot welders and a heap of different folders all very handy  :D

Ian how about getting a picture of your rock rails up in the "protection" folder. I am very intersted and will probably get a set before the end of the year, I just need to decide which ones

1. the rails you are designing
2. Rangie spares rails which I will modify
3. The rails Bill (sorry Will) is making

Adam,

My rock rails are just one offs. I don't propose to make a few of them. If I did I would be designing them differently. The design I have is based around steel I have lying around or can scrounge, plus about 25kg of weld material, most of which ends up ground off to compensate for my poor welding.

I hope to be able to complete some of the more tricky bits on Monday (ROD so I can get into maintenance without union issues). All I then have to do is paint and then fit the ally checker plate.

OK, thanks Ian. Well if you are only making one at least I can copy it although it might be easier to just modify a Rangie Spares rail.

Your raised wheel mounts are ready.

I will contact those who asked for one via email or PM.

Final cost ended up more than I thought mainly because bolts were only available in high tensile which made them more expensive.
I thought it would be $35 but it is $40 per bracket.

Postage costs are as follows

Pick up - $0
Melbourne - $7.30
Sydney/Adelaide - $10.30

I found that with my rear bar I am able to fit the 33" JT2's fully inflated with the carrier inverted.  This means I don't need the carrier bracket I ordered from Adam, so if anyone is interested in one let me or Adam know.

They are very neat.

Thanks

David

Thanks David, but I think I have managed to sell them all now so I don't have any left...Sorry to anyone that missed out.

This is assuming Will still wants one. Is that right Will? I am still saving one for you.

Adam, are you going to do another run of the spacers in the near future?  If so, give mine to someone else, and I'll catch up with you when I am living in Melbourne.  Cash is pretty tight, Wedding etc, you know how it is...
Kind Regards, Will Church

Sorry Will,  I don't plan on making any more. I can hold it for a little while if you like.

When do you plan to be living in Melbourne?
